virtual nightclub

"Start-up company Doppelganger has launched a virtual nightclub called The Lounge. Designed with teens in mind, club-goers choose computer generated characters as online alter egos. They pick hair color, clothes and even posture. In this picture, avatar characters representing members of the British all-girl band the Pussycat Dolls hang out in the nightclub's VIP room." but what is The Lounge?

  • The Lounge is a 3D Virtual World.
  • You need a reasonably quick PC running with a video card running Windows XP. All newer desktops are fine. Some older laptops will have problems.
  • The Lounge is a place where you can hang out and chat, just like an IM client -- only better because you can listen to music, dance, hot tub, etc. with your friends while you chat. You can chat within The Lounge or use the Lounge to communicate with your AIM buddies.
  • You use the arrow keys to move around and just type to chat.
  • The Lounge is currently in Beta -- which means it's not done yet. We're adding stuff to it all the time.
  • Most importantly, The Lounge is a place to have fun!
